Alpha Labs provides testing for asymptomatic individuals who require testing for the purpose of travel.

As each airline and country has different requirements, please ensure that you arrange your appointment with sufficient time to receive your results prior to boarding your flight. Most airlines require the collection date to have been no more than 72 hours prior to the flight. Your Covid test report can also include your passport number if it is provided to us at the time of testing. All positive tests are reported to Public Health for further follow up.

Covid-19 collection and testing collections are available for groups as well. If your team requires testing for return to work, return to school, film and television, or just monitoring of the health status of the team, we can provide assistance.

My test result is “Positive”, what do I do now?

A positive result indicates the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 RNA (the genetic material specific to the detection of the virus that causes COVID-19 disease).

The laboratory will report this result to Public Health who will follow up directly with you.

Should you begin to exhibit symptoms please self isolate and contact your clinical provider.

My test result is “Invalid”, what does this mean?

Sometimes the lab may be unable to obtain a result when they test your sample. This is called an "invalid" or "inhibitory" result which can occur for various reasons. Each invalid result is accompanied with a specific comment on the report to explain the cause.

You will need to have a new sample collected for testing.

Repeat sample collection and testing due to an invalid test result will be offered at no charge for customers who previously attended Alpha's Covid-19 Testing Centre.

My result is “Indeterminate”, what does this mean?

Sometimes a test sample may not give a clear result. This is called an "indeterminate result". An indeterminate result means that the lab cannot tell for sure if you do or do not have COVID-19.

You will need to have a new sample collected for testing.
